New Vista has launched two new programs in Richmond, Kentucky, as part of a new Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) grant to expand mental health and substance use services in Clark, Estill, Madison, Powell and Fayette counties.
The Drop-In Center is a peer-led program that serves as a safe space for adults experiencing mental illness, substance use disorders, or homelessness. Our peer support specialists have lived experience with mental illness or substance use and help individuals in recovery by connecting them to therapy services, employment support, housing and case management. Daily activities are open to anyone and include art therapy, coping skills, and self-esteem classes. A private shower is also provided on-site at no cost. The Drop-In Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Drop-In Center is located at 403 Gibson Lane in Richmond.
Elevate is New Vista’s Therapeutic Rehabilitation Program (TRP) for adults with serious mental illness. Elevate is designed for adults that want to live meaningful lives in their communities. Services are delivered using psychiatric rehabilitation techniques that focus on daily living skills, self-monitoring symptoms and side effects, developing emotional regulation, crisis coping skills and improving interpersonal skills. Our TRP staff members deliver services to provide the best possible experience for our clients. The Elevate TRP is also located at 403 Gibson Lane. Daily programming is Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Please call New Vista’s 24-Hour Helpline at 1.800.928.8000 to learn how you or a loved-one can participate in Elevate. Free transportation is available.
