New Vista Behavioral Healthcare offers direct care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in addition to our residential services. Through these additional services clients acquire new skills, engage in paid employment and receive temporary care when needed.
Day Training Individuals can attend one of two New Vista day training locations. Participants engage in regularly scheduled activities designed to foster the acquisition of skills, build positive social behavior and interpersonal competence. In addition, participants foster greater independence and personal choice. Through the day training programs at New Vista, individuals have the opportunity to assist with the selection and planning of activities and events which can include visits to local libraries, community events and festivals, bowling and any number of activities.
Respite Individuals who reside in their own home or in their family’s home and are unable to independently administer self-care can take advantage of a temporary stay in one of our Staffed Residences or with one of our contracted Respite providers.
Supported Employment New Vista’s Supported Employment Specialists are trained in person-centered job development and assist participants to engage in paid work in an integrated community setting. Supported Employment Specialists frequently accompany individuals to their place of employment in order to provide on-site job coaching and to help individuals foster relationships that can develop into natural supports. Employment happens at various local retailers, nonprofits, restaurants and many other types of businesses.
